Former Governor of Osun State, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, has said President Bola Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar are too old to contest the 2027 presidential election.

Oyinlola stated this on Wednesday while fielding questions in an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

According to him, both men should step aside and allow younger Nigerians to take over leadership of the country.

He said, when he was Osun State Governor, he declared that anyone above 50 should not aspire to be a state governor, based on his experience in office.

Oyinlola stressed that Tinubu and Atiku have done their best and should give younger elements the opportunity to lead Nigeria.

“Tinubu and Atiku are too old to contest the 2027 presidency. They should step aside for younger people.

“When I was in Osun, I made a declaration based on my experience in office that anybody above 50 should not aspire to be governor of a state,” Oyinlola said.
