Despite being one of Nigeria’s highest-grossing filmmakers, it is shocking that Funke Akindele still gets snubbed by influencers.
In a recent interview, the filmmaker recounted how an influencer she is bigger than her ignored her during the promotion of her movie, “Everybody Loves Jenifa”.
According to her, she reached out to the influencer, whose identity she kept under wraps, wanting to do content with her, but she didn’t respond for a while.
Funke said when the influencer finally replied, she said she couldn’t work with her because her management was against her doing such content.
The filmmaker said she told the influencer she would pay, but she ignored her and later started changing the narrative, saying Funke blocked her.
“There was one influencer I reached out to, telling her I wanted to do content with her for my Jenifa Diary movie, but she didn’t respond for a while.
When she finally did, she said she was sorry, but her management didn’t want her to do that kind of content.
I told her I was going to pay, but she ignored me.
Months later, I started hearing that I blocked her”.
