An abandoned baby was found along Power Line street in Ore, the headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The infant, whose identity is yet to be determined, was found by residents Sunday afternoon, March 8, 2026.
Eyewitnesses told Hope Newspaper that the baby was allegedly dropped at the location at about 1 p.m. by an unknown person who quickly left the scene.
“The child was seen lying helplessly before good-hearted residents stepped in to ensure the baby was safe while efforts were made to alert the authorities,” a witness said.
A resident who spoke on condition of anonymity described the situation as disturbing, noting that many people in the area expressed sadness over the incident.
The development was later reported to the police, prompting officers to intervene and assess the situation surrounding the abandoned infant
A police source in Ore confirmed the incident, stating that the matter had been brought to the attention of security authorities.
