A businessman, Alhaji Balan Auwal Mai Gwanjo, has d!ed in captivity over two months after he was kidnapped by armed bandits in Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The deceased was abducted alongside his son, Saifullahi during an attack on Malumfashi town on February 26, 2025.

Sources confirmed that the family received a heartbreaking call from his abductors on Sunday, May 11, informing them of his d3ath.

The bandits stormed the area, shooting sporadically and engaging in a fierce gun duel with security forces.

Despite the efforts of security personnel, the assailants succeeded in abducting the elderly businessman and his son.
