Whoopi Goldberg has come under heavy fire after calling for the removal of former US President Donald Trump, following his controversial United Nations General Assembly speech.

Speaking on The View on Wednesday, the veteran actress and TV host claimed Trump’s remarks were “not presidential” and “not helpful,” adding that many world leaders no longer take him seriously.

According to New York Post, Goldberg went further to suggest invoking the 25th Amendment — the constitutional clause that allows for a president to be ousted if deemed unfit to serve.

“Well, they questioned Biden’s competence. If Biden had acted like this, I would have said, ‘Yeah, take him,’” Goldberg said. “This was not presidential and this was not helpful.”

Her statement immediately stirred heated reactions online.

“She was curiously silent during the dementia years of 2021–2025,” one critic wrote on X.

Another blasted her commentary, saying: “Why do we care what she has to say? Clearly she doesn’t understand what the 25th Amendment is. It’s not about disagreeing with the other party.”
