Nigerian singer and politician Banky W has revealed that his wife, actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington, was the one who made the first move that led to their marriage.
Newsunplug reports that the couple shared details about their relationship during a recent interview with Teju Babyface, where they spoke about how their love story began and how it has grown over the years.
Banky W explained that he had initially shown interest in Adesua, but she kept him in the friend zone for a long period. According to him, he eventually stopped trying to push things forward and instead focused on praying, hoping her feelings would change.
He said that after more than a year, Adesua reached out and referred to him as her husband, which marked the turning point in their relationship.
“Adesua was actually the one who asked me to be her husband. She kept me in the friend zone for a long time, so I stopped pushing and simply prayed to God to touch her heart. After a year and a few months, she finally called me ‘my husband’, and that’s it”, he said.
Adesua also spoke about their marriage, saying they have now been together for 10 years and still maintain a strong bond. She described how they continue to show affection in simple ways, such as holding hands and staying physically close even while sleeping.
“We’ve been married for 10 years and we still hold each others hands all the time, we sleep together with our feet’s touching each other. I didn’t want to marry an artiste, a pastor and a politician but God gave me all three”, she said.
