Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, has sustained an injury few weeks to the start of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Ndidi missed the Foxes Sky Bet Championship 4-1 home win against Huddersfield Town at the King Power Stadium on Monday (today).

Leicester boss, Enzo Maresca confirmed after the game that the Nigerian has picked up injury.

“Enzo Maresca tells me that Wilfred Ndidi has picked up an injury, that’s why he was absent today,” Leicester City’s BBC correspondent, Owynn Palmer-Atkin wrote on his X account.

“Both Ndidi and Iheanacho are set to join up with Nigeria tomorrow, Enzo stressed that neither are currently fit enough to play.”

Iheanacho has missed the Foxes last two Championship games due to a muscular problem.

The Super Eagles will begin preparations for AFCON 2023 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on Tuesday.
