Blackburn Rovers head coach Valerien Ismael has allayed fears Ryan Alebiosu could be set for lengthy spell on the sidelines, NEWSUNPLUG reports.
The right-back is currently on international duty with Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Alebiosu copped an injury in the Super Eagles’ 3-1 win over the Cranes of Uganda on Tuesday.
Initial reports indicated that the 24-year-old won’t feature for Nigeria again in Morocco, as he was expected to be sidelined for up to one month.
It has now been confirmed that the injury is not as bad as first reported.
Ismael revealed that the injury won’t sideline the defender for too long.
“Ryan Alebiosu played 90 minutes for Nigeria with no problem. He has a cut, but it’s nothing major for us,” Ismael told the club’s official website.
Meanwhile, the player was not part of Super Eagles’ training on Thursday as he continues to recuperate from the injury.
