Algeria captain, Riyad Mahrez, has tipped Nigeria to go all the way and win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON.
Mahrez was unable to help his country avoid elimination in the hands of the Super Eagles, as they lost 2-0 in the quarter-final on Saturday.
But the Al-Ahli winger won the 2013 edition of the AFCON and insists he is happy with one title.
“I’m happy I was able to win one AFCON trophy for my country. It’s football, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose,” Mahrez told Naija Sports.
“Maybe it will be the time for Nigeria to win. They have a good generation. But sometimes, you can have a good generation, but you don’t win.
“It’s really difficult to win, but I think they have a good chance.”
