Tanzania captain, Mbwama Samatta,has warned the Super Eagles and other teams in Group C that they are at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations to make a big impact.
The Taifa Stars are one of the less fancied teams that will compete at the AFCON 2025 finals.
The East Africans were eliminated at the group stage in their three previous appearances in the competition.
Tanzanian will also face the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia and Cranes of Uganda in Group C.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles, who are one of the most successful teams in AFCON history and Tunisia are favourites to pick the top two spots in the group.
Samatta reckoned they are in a difficult group but insisted they are to fight for a place in the knockout round.
“Many football fans say we are in a very tough group, and that is true. We know what this tournament means to the nation, and we want to give our best in every matches” Samatta told the Citizen.
Tanzania’s first game is against Nigeria in Fès on Tuesday.
