Super Eagles midfielder, Frank Onyeka, has revealed what has been helping Nigeria do well at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Nigeria plays against Algeria in the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday.

The Brentford midfielder talked about Nigeria’s strong performance in the tournament so far, saying the team has been good at scoring goals

“Our strikers, they are scoring goals. I think that’s what has helped us in the tournament,” Onyeka told reporters in Friday’s press conference.

“Now we are ready. Alex [Iwobi] is just doing what Alex does, like making the passes and helping the team move forward. Wilfred is controlling the midfield, and I just focus on what I’m good at,” he added.

The Super Eagles have won all their games within regular time, a feat Onyeka credits to the team’s effective attacking play and strong teamwork.

“No, we are set. We are focused on the game,” Onyeka said.

Onyeka recognized the strong team Algeria has, but he also felt confident about how well Nigeria has prepared.

“Yeah, they are a very good team. They have nine points from the group stage. They made it past the Round of 16, and it’s definitely not going to be an easy match.

“But we just want to focus on our game and find out how we can win,” he explained.
