As the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations enters the Round of 16, a former skipper of the Super Eagles, William Troost-Ekong, is backing the team to win the trophy.
Eric Chelle’s have qualified for the next round of the tournament as Group C winners with a perfect record.
Troost-Ekong has said the team’s game-by-game improvement and squad depth is the reason they will be champions.
“Great start to the tournament so far. Getting better by the game,” Troost-Ekong told Soccernet.
“And love to see besides the regular performers many players in the squad taking their chances and contributing to the momentum.
“They are my favourites to win this year.”
