The four oldest goal scorers in the history of the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, tournament have been unveiled.

CAF, in a post via their website on Friday, named Egypt legend Hossam Hassan as the player who holds the record of the oldest goal scorer in AFCON history.

Hassan achieved the feat at the 2006 AFCON edition when he scored against DR Congo in their 4-1 win over the Leopards in the quarter-finals.

Hassan was 39 years and 5 months when he netted against Congo.

Behind Hassan is Gabon’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who moved to second position on the list.

The former Arsenal captain achieved the record at the age of 36 years and 6 months after he scored for Gabon in their dramatic 3-2 defeat to Mozambique at the ongoing AFCON in Morocco.

In third place is Zambia icon Kalusha Bwalya. At 36 years and 5 months, Bwalya scored at the 2000 AFCON tournament during their match against Senegal.

He converted a penalty in the 87th minute to help his team play a 2-2 draw against Senegal in Lagos.

In fourth position is Equatorial Guinea’s Emilio Nsue. At 36 years and 3 months, Nsue joined the elite list after scoring a goal in Equatorial Guinea’s 3-1 loss to Algeria at the ongoing AFCON tournament in Morocco on Wednesday.
