Super Eagles captain, Wilfred Ndidi has warned Nigeria’s Round of 16 opponent at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Morocco that the team is not under any pressure.

According to Ndidi, the AFCON tournament starts now in the knockout stage, and Eric Chelle’s side are ready to take it game after game.

The Besiktas midfielder spoke to reporters after Nigeria’s AFCON group stage victory against Uganda on Tuesday.

Ndidi, however, insisted that the Super Eagles are focused on themselves at this stage of the competition and not their opponent.

“We focus on ourselves [not our Round of 16 opponent],” Ndidi said.

“The competition starts now. It is game after game, no pressure,” he said.

Nigeria will face either Ivory Coast, Mozambique or Cameroon in the AFCON last-16 stage.
