Nigerian winger Moses Simon has voiced his disappointment regarding the absence of Super Eagles teammate Benjamin Fredrick from the squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Morocco.
The tournament begins on Sunday, and Fredrick will miss out on representing the Super Eagles due to injury.
Fredrick has been outstanding since breaking through Eric Chelle’s side some months ago.
In an interview with ESPN, Simon expressed his feelings about Fredrick’s absence from Nigeria’s AFCON squad, saying: “It’s very emotional for me.”
“It’s an unbelievably big dream to play with the young players you helped to the top because the feeling is something else.
“But I’m sad that Fredrick will not be here [Morocco with the Super Eagles squad]. Because he’ll help us if he were here.”
