Sevilla striker, Akor Adams has said it’s a shame that Nigeria did not win the last edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, played in Morocco.
Adams played a key role for the Super Eagles at the biennial tournament in Morocco.
He netted two goals and provided two assists in seven appearances, helping Nigeria win the bronze medal after beating Egypt on penalties in the third-place playoff.
I think my confidence was already good. But playing in the Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria was a great privilege, something I am very grateful for,” Adams told Marca as quoted by Estadio Deportivo.
“I was able to play every match and experience the whole thing. It’s a shame we could not win the tournament, but it was a very important step in my career.”
