Captain of the Super Eagles, Wilfred Ndidi, has talked about a small disagreement that happened between Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman during their match against Mozambique in the Round of sixteen of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations on Monday.

He said both players would not have clashed if they were not competitive and wanted more for the team.

Ndidi talked to reporters in the mixed zone after the game at the Complexe Sportif de Fès, stating that both players showed a winning mindset.

The Super Eagles captain talked about the short disagreement between Lookman and Osimhen, Ndidi, which caught the attention of Nigerian fans.

He said, “It’s a really competitive attitude, and I like that because we want to have more.

“Yes, we miss so many chances. It’s just when you really want something more and it’s not happening.

“So I feel really happy with the attitude because everyone wants more.”

Nigeria took control from the start, and Ademola Lookman scored the first goal in the 20th minute. Victor Osimhen then scored two goals, and Adams added the winning goal in the 75th minute.

With this victory, the Super Eagles will next face the winner of the Algeria versus DR Congo quarter-final match in Marrakech, coming into the next round with a boost in confidence and momentum.
