ormer Nigerian international Femi Opabunmi has asked other Super Eagles players to follow the example of Victor Osimhen.

He praised the Galatasaray player for his hard work, commitment and strong mindset every time he plays for the Super Eagles.

Opabunmi was one of the best players in the Nigerian squad during the 2001 FIFA U17 World Cup, scoring five goals and helping the country reach the final of the tournament

They can achieve success if they are open to thinking in new ways,” Opabunmi said to ThePlayzone podcast.

“When you watch the Nigerian national team now, the players aren’t putting much efforts as it used to be.

“When Osimhen runs back and forth on the field, you can see he plays with a lot of passion, just like he does at Galatasaray.

“If other players follow his example and put in the same effort, we can compete with any team in the Africa Cup of Nations and win the trophy and bring it back to our country. I think they will win in Morocco.”

Nigeria will face Mozambique’s Mambas in the Africa Cup of Nations at the Complexe Sportif de Fès on Monday, January 5.
