Former Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh has insisted that Senegal forward Sadio Mane is loved worldwide for two reasons.

Oliseh spoke while speaking on Mane’s crucial intervention during Senegal’s AFCON final win against Morocco on Sunday.

The former Liverpool star demonstrated his leadership quality as he urged his teammates to return to the pitch after they went to the dressing room following the referee Jean-Jacques Ndala’s decision to award Morocco a penalty after Brahim Diaz was fouled in the penalty box during the tie.

Speaking on CAF TV, Oliseh said Mane is loved globally because of his “intelligence and calmness.”

“This is why Sadio Mane is loved worldwide, because of his intelligence and the ability to stay calm,” Oliseh said.

“This is a man who has been through a lot of challenges in his playing career. I think Mane is a hero; he is an example that people should imitate. His teammates are coming back onto the pitch.”
