South Africa coach, Hugo Broos has reacted to his side’s AFCON Round of 16 defeat to Cameroon on Sunday.
Broos also revealed that the Bafana Bafana will now be focused and plan on their next competition, which is the 2026 FIFA World Cup tournament, after their elimination from the AFCON at the hands of Cameroon.
Two goals from Junior Tchamadeu and Christian Kofane ensured the Indomitable Lions defeated Broos’ side 2-1.
Evidence Makgopa scored a goal for the Bafana Bafana against David Pagou’s side.
Speaking at his post-match interview after the game, Broos insisted that his team didn’t deserve to lose against Cameroon.
“That is the way life is. Our team didn’t deserve to lose against Cameroon; this isn’t the result we came for, but we’ve to acknowledge that it’s what it’s,” Broos said.
“We’ll now focus on preparing for our future objectives, with the 2026 World Cup in our sights.”
