Cameroon head coach, David Pagou has suggested why his team was defeated by the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, host nation Morocco in the quarter-final.

Pagou observed as Morocco dominated the encounter on Friday night, securing a spot in the AFCON last-4 by eliminating Cameroon.

The North Africans sealed their victory with a goal from Brahim Diaz in the first-half, followed by a second from Ismael Saibari in the second-half.

In his post-match interview, Pagou reflected on the critical moment of the game, noting that the second goal conceded by Cameroon proved crucial.

“I’m proud of my players. We competed well against Morocco, and we leave the AFCON with our heads held high,” Pagou said.

“We faced some difficulties, but we came back well in the second-half, but the second goal we conceded decided the match,” he admitted.

“Overall, I am satisfied with the performance,” he concluded.
