Liverpool Football Club have been under scrutiny since the beginning of the 2024/25 season after a series of bad results in the past few weeks under Arne Slot.
The 2024/25 Premier League Champions have failed to string consecutive wins since their 2-1 defeat against Chelsea in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge. Arne Slot was speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Premier League game against Aston Villa where he blamed injury of the team’s poor form.
Liverpool’s poor form in recent weeks has raised major concerns among fans and pundits alike. After a strong start to the season, the Reds have struggled for consistency, dropping crucial points both at home and away. Defensive lapses, lack of creativity in midfield, and missed chances in front of goal have all contributed to their recent slump.
He said,
“I am happy with the team and convinced by the strategy. But not all of players had a proper pre-season or have been injured, so when 3/4 injured you go back to 15 or 16. I am convinced 20 is enough but we are struggling to keep them fit for obvious reasons”.
Liverpool fans will hope the club can get back to its form when they host high-flying Aston Villa who were coming off the victory against Manchester City.
