Arsenal youngster Ethan Nwaneri is set to leave the club on loan as the Gunners look to accelerate the development of one of their most exciting academy products.

The young midfielder, who made history as the youngest player ever to feature in the Premier League is set to leave the Emirates on loan to join Marseille. He has failed to break into the first team despite his performance this season under Mikel Arteta.

Transfer news expert, Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news on his official X account. He also confirmed that Marseille will pay the full salary of the midfielder during the loan spell.

The decision to sanction a loan move is understood to be part of Arsenal’s long-term plan for Nwaneri. With intense competition for midfield and attacking roles, the club believes that regular senior football elsewhere will be more beneficial than sporadic appearances in North London.

The Ligue 1 side is keen to give Nwaneri meaningful game time at a high level, something Arsenal see as crucial at this stage of his career. However, if the move is a success, he will return to the Emirates Stadium more mature, experienced, and ready to challenge for a regular place in Arteta’s squad.
