Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has insisted that Vinicius Junior is not sad because he lost out on the 2024 Ballon d’Or.
Speaking to the media on Monday, Ancelotti claimed the Brazil forward is unhappy because of the floods that have devastated Valencia, Spain.
Los Blancos saw their La Liga clash with Valencia cancelled because of the tragedy last week.
Ancelotti said: “Vinicius Jr is sad but not because of the Ballon d’Or…
“He is sad because of what’s happening in Valencia”.
Vinicius Jr lost the Ballon d’Or to Manchester City’s Rodri, despite being a huge favourite to win it.
He finished second in the voting while Madrid team-mate Jude Bellingham came third.
