Bandits abduct pastor and five others in Kaduna community as kidnapped residents regain freedom

Suspected bandits have abducted a pastor and five others in Goni-Gora community in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

A resident in the community, Mr. Shuaibu Ekpa told Daily Post that the gunmen invaded the community on Sunday night, March 5, 2023.

Ekpa said when he heard the sound of a shooting while sleeping around 2:00am, he woke up and climbed the ceiling of his house until the shooting subsided.

He said as the day brightened around 7am and after headcounts within the community, it was found that a pastor of the Pentecostal Church and five other tenants within the community had been kidnapped.

The wife of one of the kidnapped victims said she has not heard anything from the kidnappers since they were taken away.

In another development, some residents, including a couple and children, who were kidnapped from U/Barde, in Sabon Tasha area of Kaduna State on February 6, 2023, have regained their freedom.

A member of the community, James Pada, confirmed the news in a Facebook post on Sunday, March 5, 2023.
