Barcelona’s recent match against Alavés turned into a difficult ordeal despite an early advantage. The team went 2–0 up with goals from Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres, yet within just twelve minutes of the second half they allowed the Basque side to mount a complete comeback. A careless penalty conceded by Robert Lewandowski, a second goal originating from another of his misplaced passes, and a third goal arriving from a counterattack he could not even track back for, left the team stunned.

Only a brilliant free-kick from Raphinha in the 87th minute and a stoppage-time goal from Pedri in the 93rd prevented a full-scale collapse. Still, the late rescue did little to calm frustrations inside the dressing room. While Hansi Flick was still giving tactical instructions, Raphinha reportedly lost his patience, expressing his concerns openly in front of the team.

When asked whether Lewandowski would remain a starter against Mallorca next Saturday, Flick offered a brief response: “I will decide that during the week.” Within the club, no one is willing to predict how the situation will unfold. President Joan Laporta is said to be furious about the leaks but also aware that Lewandowski’s current performances are becoming increasingly difficult to justify.

Sporting director Deco has already begun preparing potential solutions. Viktor Gyökeres of Sporting CP has resurfaced as a strong option for January, while Vitor Roque is viewed internally as the likely long-term starting striker from 2026 onward. The reshaping of Barcelona’s forward line is now firmly on the agenda.

One thing, however, is certain: Raphinha has broken the silence. Once overshadowed after arriving in 2022, he has now become one of the most influential voices in the squad. His message was direct — Barcelona will not win major trophies again unless the centre-forward position changes. All eyes now turn to Saturday’s match in Son Moix, where the next chapter of this internal tension will unfold.
