Reality TV personality Natasha Akide, better known as Tacha, has weighed in on the criticism surrounding Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen following his on-field altercation with teammate Ademola Lookman.
The incident occurred during Nigeria’s match against Mozambique, where tensions rose between Osimhen and Lookman, prompting teammates and officials to intervene and separate the two players.
In a video that quickly went viral, Tacha, who also owns a football club, applauded the Super Eagles for their performance in the game. She described it as the best match she had watched in a long time and expressed regret at not being in Morocco to cheer loudly for the team.
Commenting on Osimhen’s reaction, Tacha pointed out that the striker is known for his fiery temperament and argued that such displays often stem from passion after competitive matches. She emphasized that fans should not be shocked, as it reflects his dedication to the sport.
Tacha also highlighted that Osimhen had made multiple attempts to score but was reportedly denied the ball on three occasions. She suggested that anyone in his position would likely react in a similar manner.
Responding to critics, the reality star likened Osimhen to Nigeria’s version of Cristiano Ronaldo, arguing that similar behavior from Ronaldo would not have caused such an uproar. She even challenged the coach to bench Osimhen in the next match, joking that she wanted to “see something.”
The comments from Tacha sparked mixed reactions among fans. While some agreed with her perspective, others maintained that Osimhen’s conduct on the field was unacceptable.
