Nollywood actress and filmmaker Rashidat Anjorin, popularly known as Indomie, has opened up about a difficult period in her life when loneliness and emotional struggles deeply affected her mental wellbeing.
Speaking during an appearance on the ‘Talk to B’ podcast, the actress shared her personal battle with depression, revealing that prolonged isolation pushed her into one of the darkest moments of her life.
According to Indomie, the emotional burden became so intense that she found herself doing things that were completely out of character, including making the first move on a man.
Reflecting on the experience, she disclosed that there was a time she disappeared for several days while dealing with overwhelming feelings of sadness and hopelessness.
“I made a move towards a man, something I had never done before. I was so depressed that for three days I was missing and nowhere to be found,” she recounted.
The actress explained that the absence of meaningful companionship can have a serious impact on a person’s emotional health, stressing that life is not solely about financial success.
Using an analogy to illustrate the importance of support systems, she noted that when a person dies, several people are needed to carry the coffin, emphasizing that genuine relationships and support from others are essential for personal growth and wellbeing.
Indomie also took time to express gratitude to several individuals who played significant roles in her career journey. She specifically acknowledged Funke Akindele, Taiwo Adebayo, Sodiq Adebayo, and Blackman for their encouragement and contributions to her professional development.
