Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface was absent from Bayer Leverkusen’s training session on Monday, October 21, following a serious car crash over the weekend.

The incident occurred after Boniface’s impressive performance in the Bundesliga champions’ match against Frankfurt on Saturday, where he scored the winning goal. After the game, he was en route to the airport to pick up friends when the accident took place.

Fortunately, Bayer Leverkusen confirmed that Boniface sustained only two minor injuries to his left hand. Despite this, it remains uncertain whether he will participate in the upcoming Champions League clash against Brest, scheduled for later this week.

According to BILD, there is a possibility that the striker will be given a short break to fully recover from the accident, which could delay his return to action until next weekend.
