This is the shocking moment a boy threw a firecracker into a septic tank, causing a methane explosion that damaged several vehicles.
The incident happened on Thursday, Jan. 30, in Zizhong county, Neijiang in Southwest China’s Sichuan Province.
A video shared online shows the boy running after throwing the firecracker into the septic tank. He was barely out of the area when the explosion occurred and blew waste and cars into the air.
No casualties were reported, and authorities tracked down the boy within an hour.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident, China Media Group reported.
A total of eight vehicles were damaged, Xinmin Evening News reported on Sunday.
According to estimates from the insurers, the total vehicle damage amounts to approximately 285,000 yuan ($39,041).
