Werder Bremen head coach, Daniel Thioune has refused to offer assurance that Nigerian defender Felix Agu will be included in his squad for Saturday’s clash with Mainz.

Agu returned to training this week after he was sidelined for around one month due to an adductor injury.

Forward Samuel Mbangula is also on the verge of return to fitness.

Thioune provided a fitness update on the duo ahead of the home clash with Mainz.

“They definitely won’t be starting this week, although we’ll make a decision on Saturday, at the earliest as to whether they’ll be in the squad or not,” the gaffer told the club’s official website.

Agu has made nine league appearances for Bremen this season.
