Caf Champions League: Rivers United Lose 2-1 Against Rs Berkane In Uyo

Rivers United lost 2-1 to RS Berkane of Morocco in their CAF Champions League matchday two encounter at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Friday night.

Finidi George’s now have zero point in Group A after going down to their second consecutive defeat in the competition.

The Port Harcourt club were on course to pick maximum points from the game after Berkane’s midfielder Mamadou Camara diverted the ball into his own net in the 37th minute.

The hosts collapsed in the closing stages of the game to the disappointment of their fans.

Youness El Kaabi equalised for the visitors in the seventh minute of stoppage time.

RS Berkane got the winning goal through Mounir Chouiar one minute later.

Defending champions Pyramids FC will travel to Power Dynamos of Zambia for the group’s other game on Saturday.

Rivers United will be away to Power Dynamos in their next game in the competition in on January 23, 2026.
