Kingsley Ikenna, the father of Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey, has made an emotional public appeal, calling on Nigerians to help intervene so he can regain access to his children.

In his plea, Ikenna admitted he may have wronged his wife in the past and asked for forgiveness, saying, “Please, I am begging Nigerians to help me. I am calling on everyone to come to my aid. Wherever I may have wronged my wife, I sincerely ask her to forgive me. I am human and not perfect.”

Speaking on the pain of being separated from his children, he added, “All I want is access to my children. They are my flesh and blood, and not being able to see them has been very painful for me.”

Ikenna also appealed directly to his wife and children, urging them to forgive him and allow reconciliation. “I am appealing to my wife and my children to please find it in their hearts to forgive me. I am asking Nigerians to help plead on my behalf so I can reunite with my children. I am truly going through a lot in silence,” he said.

“Scammers Are Everywhere, Even In Churches”- Bishop Oyedepo

Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide (commonly known as Winners Chapel), has expressed concern over the rising prevalence of fraudsters, noting that their activities are now spreading into all areas of society, including religious institutions.

During a midweek service, the renowned cleric recounted a recent incident in which an individual allegedly impersonated him in an attempt to deceive people. He described the experience as a reflection of the troubling times we live in.

Bishop Oyedepo explained that the impersonator contacted one of his aides, pretending to be him and making certain requests.

“We once had a situation where someone claimed to be me and said I was asking for something,” he shared with the congregation.

Fortunately, the attempt was thwarted because his assistant decided to verify the claim before taking any action.

“My assistant asked if the person wanted to speak to me. When the person said yes, he was connected, and it quickly became clear that he was lying,” Bishop Oyedepo recalled.

He added that the impersonator was immediately exposed and, in trying to cover himself, ended up incriminating himself further.

Using this incident as a cautionary tale, Bishop Oyedepo warned that fraudulent activities are becoming increasingly bold, even in churches.

“These crimes are no longer confined to markets or offices they are happening in schools and churches too,” he said.

The bishop urged both worshippers and the public to remain vigilant, stressing the importance of verifying information before responding to any requests, regardless of who is mentioned.

“Stay grounded in the truth, and you will not fall victim,” Bishop Oyedepo advised.

  • “You Are A Greedy Money Monger And A Liar”- Pastor Abel Damina Slams Korede Komaiya

“You Are A Greedy Money Monger And A Liar”- Pastor Abel Damina Slams Korede Komaiya

Pastor Abel Damina, the founder of Abel Damina Ministries International, has openly criticised Pastor Korede Komaiya following the circulation of a video in which Komaiya stated that he would never submit himself to a poor pastor.

Reacting to the statement, Damina accused Komaiya of encouraging materialism and greed, arguing that such views contradict the core message of Christianity. He described the remark as a reflection of a poverty-driven mindset and maintained that financial status should never be used as a yardstick for spiritual leadership.

Damina further alleged that Komaiya was misleading believers by linking wealth to spiritual authority, emphasising that the gospel is rooted in godliness combined with contentment, not material success.

He also recalled that Komaiya had once experienced financial hardship and received support from everyday people, yet now appears to dismiss pastors who are not wealthy despite benefiting from similar contributions.

The criticism intensified as Damina challenged Komaiya’s interpretation of the book of Proverbs, noting that the book largely contains human wisdom and observations rather than doctrinal teachings. He stressed that the Bible places greater value on integrity and truthfulness than on riches.

According to Damina, it is preferable to live modestly with honesty than to deceive congregations through prosperity-focused messages. He warned that preaching centred on material wealth undermines the dignity of the pulpit and distorts the true essence of Christianity.

This is not the first time Pastor Damina has questioned widely held religious views. In January 2025, he sparked debate after asserting that smoking and drinking are not inherently sinful within Christianity.

Again, in April 2025, he publicly opposed Pastor David Ibiyeomi of Salvation Ministries, who claimed that Jesus hated poverty. Damina countered the assertion, stating that Jesus never condemned the poor but instead associated closely with them, further reinforcing his rejection of prosperity-driven doctrines.

@Ajieson12:”Christians are supposed to prosper to enable them propagate the gospel. Zech. 1:17. Anyone preaching that Christians should be poor is evil and fake.”

@GlobalGENDARY:”There’s no difference between them. They are all businessmen. The only difference is that one is greedier than the other. BUT they are in the same business field.”

@ChukwuSancti:”I don’t know what to say here but if you’ve been to pastor k.k’s Church here in warri you’ll go home thinking God doesn’t love you and won’t bless you as a poor or middle class man. He’s always like if you don’t give God heaven and earth you don’t have you’re not his Child.”

@Roughdiamond_04:”Nothing concern all this pastors with Godliness and contentment, all the care about is how to brainwash you anc scorned you out of your money.”

@dat042architect:”Fake pastors everywhere!!! We are supposed to seek the kingdom of God first, and EVERYTHING shall be added unto us! But these money pastors said no, that is money money money. Nonsensical sé passé ingredients! That man doesn’t look to me like one who is called by God.”

“Walking was part of my daily routine in Magodo,” she explained, “but here in Lekki, there have been multiple occasions when unfamiliar men have followed me.”

Recalling one particularly alarming incident, Aladese said, “It was only by God’s protection that I got through that day. After that experience, I decided to invest in a treadmill so I could exercise safely at home.”

  • “Miracles Are Real”- Apostle Suleman Backs Pastor Chris Amid Viral Healing Controversy

“Miracles Are Real”- Apostle Suleman Backs Pastor Chris Amid Viral Healing Controversy

Apostle Johnson Suleman, leader of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide, has come to the defense of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of LoveWorld Incorporated amid debates sparked by a viral healing video circulating on social media.

The footage, which recently went viral, showed ten individuals who were reportedly disabled suddenly walking after prayers during a church service. The clip ignited widespread discussion online, with many Nigerians expressing skepticism about the authenticity of the healings.

Public figures such as reality star Pere Egbi, actress Jemima Osunde, and some medical professionals weighed in, questioning how people allegedly disabled for years could walk immediately after the prayers.

In response to the ongoing controversy, Apostle Suleman addressed the situation during a church service on Sunday, January 25, 2026, defending Pastor Chris and the legitimacy of the miracles.

He emphasized that miracles are real and highlighted that Pastor Chris’ ministry has a long history of demonstrating signs and wonders. According to Apostle Suleman, faith in Christianity is not based on logic, and miracles often appear illogical to those unwilling to experience them.

He noted that attempting to convince skeptics through reasoning is often futile, as it is the Holy Spirit, not human argument, that reveals spiritual truths. Referencing 2 Corinthians 4:4, he explained that some minds are spiritually blinded, and no explanation will satisfy them unless they witness a miracle firsthand.

Apostle Suleman also stressed that mocking miracles or demanding pastors perform them in hospitals misses the essence of divine acts. He clarified that miracles are not meant to prove a pastor’s calling but are manifestations that occur according to God’s timing and the faith of those involved.

    Read some comments below:

@xammi_911:”At least, people knew the people Jesus healed were afflicted with amenities for many years and it was obvious. You can’t bring people out like these and call it miracle.”

@lavivavogue:”Miracles are real and if you don’t believe REST and if you don’t believe after resting, argue with your Bible. This is 2026 leave pastors alone!”

@navysealz007:”Firstly no one doubts about miracle, they only asked for evidence as NBC also asked for evidence. Asking for evidence isn’t wrong. Secondly hospital have gone to the church on several occasions and didn’t receive miracle. I guess you will say they didn’t have faith.”

@emmruobe:”Religion makes you a better pretender, not a better person. Are you going to lie against him ?. if you know the truth????”

@CletusChinanu:”Miracles are not meant to be explained. If you doubt them, let God give you one that is the only true proof.”

  • Kenyan environmental advocate, Truphena Muthoni, sets new Guinness World Record for longest marathon hugging a tree, clocking in 72 hours (video)

Kenyan environmental advocate, Truphena Muthoni, sets new Guinness World Record for longest marathon hugging a tree, clocking in 72 hours (video)

The Guinness World Records has recognised Truphena Muthoni’s 72-hour tree-hugging world record.

In a statement on Monday, January 26, Guinness World Records described Muthoni’s feat as an act by a “passionate environmental activist from Kenya sending a strong message about protecting the Earth after hugging a tree for three whole days.”

Kenyan environmental advocate, Truphena Muthoni, sets new Guinness World Record for longest marathon hugging a tree, clocking in 72 hours (video)

“Truphena Muthoni has set the record for longest marathon hugging a tree with an unbelievable total of 72 hours,” Guinness World Records said.

“The record was first broken in 2024 by Faith Patricia Ariokot (Uganda) with a time of 16 hr 6 sec.”

According to Guinness World Records, Abdul Hakim Awal (Ghana) broke it in 2024 with 24 hours, 21 min, 4 sec, and Truphena first came along in February 2025 to take the title after setting a new 48-hour record.

Frederick Boakye (Ghana) very briefly held the record with a time of 50 hours 2 min 28 sec before Truphena took it back with her record-shattering time.

22-year-old Truphena, who has founded her own initiative called Hug the Earth, told Guinness that the first attempt was for introducing humanity, while the second one was commitment.

“The first attempt was a statement, a way to reintroduce humanity to the Earth through a simple, intimate act,” Truphena told Guinness.

“The second attempt was a commitment. I realised that the world needed more than symbolism; it needed endurance, consistency, and proof that care for the planet is not momentary. Doing it twice was my way of saying that climate action is not a one-off event but a sustained responsibility.”

Truphena, who is also an ambassador of the 15 Billion Trees Campaign, said she learned a lot from her first attempt that helped her go for so much longer the second time around. To prepare the first time, she engaged in dry fasting and reduced her water intake to train her body to go for long periods without it.

“However, I later realised this approach was a mistake, as it placed unnecessary strain on my kidneys and increased the risk of serious health complications,” she said.

“I also overprepared physically during my first attempt by doing strenuous exercises driven by nervousness rather than strategy. For my second attempt, I approached preparation very differently. I significantly increased my water intake in the weeks leading up to the challenge to properly condition my body and protect my organs, and I prepared in a calm, relaxed, and confident way.

“This made a remarkable difference; I was not physically tired at all during the attempt. The main challenge I experienced was sleepiness, largely because I missed proper sleep the day before the record began. Overall, the experience taught me that endurance is not about deprivation or intensity but about preparation, balance, and respecting the body’s limits.”

As with all the Guinness marathon record attempts, Truphena earned five minutes of rest for every hour of activity. Guiness said it was up to her to take a break every hour or save them up for a longer rest.

The GWR said: “Through her record attempts, Truphena hopes to spread a message throughout the world that healing the planet does not require violence, conflict, or fear.”

“Hugging a tree shows that nature is not separate from us; it is family. If one person can stay connected for 72 hours, then surely humanity can learn to protect what still sustains us. Also, before we plant a million trees, we must nurture a million hearts that care. Conservation should come from a place of love instead of instruction.”
