Bayern Munich manager, Julian Nagelsmann, has provided an update on forward Sadio Mane’s fitness ahead of his side’s UEFA Champions League last-16 tie with Paris Saint-Germain on February 14.

Recall that Mane suffered an injury ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup break.

The Senegalese international heartbreakingly missed the tournament in Qatar as a result of the injury.

The former Liverpool and Southampton star has stayed on the sidelines since the resumption of the season as well after the conclusion of the FIFA World Cup.

Speaking to the media during Bayern Munich’s mid-season training camp in Qatar, Nagelsmann said he is not counting on Mane ahead of Bayern’s tie with PSG,

Nagelsmann said (via Radio France Internationale):

“He [Sadio Mane] is an important player. When everything goes well, it could be that he’s there against Paris [PSG], But we will see.

“In my mind, I Am not counting on him for the first game against Paris.”
