Bayern Munich legend, Lothar Matthaus has listed seven clubs as favourites to win this season’s UEFA Champions League.

Matthaus spoke ahead of Bayern Munich’s Champions League tie with Chelsea on Wednesday.

Recall that Paris Saint-Germain are the current holders of the Champions League after winning the title last season.

In his Champions League column on Sky, Matthaus said Real Madrid, Barcelona, Liverpool, PSG, Manchester City, Arsenal and Bayern Munich are the favourites for the trophy.

“For me, Bayern is one of the six best teams in Europe and among the teams that can win the title,” Matthaus said as quoted by GOAL.

“These include defending champions Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Liverpool, Manchester City and, to a lesser extent, Arsenal.”
