Former France midfielder, Emmanuel Petit, has said he does not expect Barcelona to win the Champions League this season.

According to Petit, the Spanish champions have a weakness in their defence and concede too many goals.

Last season, Barca got all the way to the semi-final, where they were eliminated by Inter Milan on a 7-6 aggregate.

“Barça can compete for LaLiga, but no for the Champions League, no way. Does anyone think they can win that title with that defence? Impossible,” Petit said.

“We saw it against Inter. How can you concede seven goals in a Champions League semi finals?

“Some may say they scored six goals, but that’s not enough for me.”

So far this season in the Champions League, Barcelona have won two games, drawn two and lost one.

This keeps them in 18th place on the log, still with a chance of qualifying for the knockout playoffs.
