Former Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has described Tottenham as a team lacking the physicality to compete with other clubs.

Wenger said that Antonio Conte’s side do not have enough quality despite investing ‘a lot of money’ after the Premier League side were handed a 1-0 defeat by Italian side, AC Milan in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 clash on Tuesday night.

It was Brahim Diaz’s goal that separated the two sides on the night and Conte’s men can still turn things around at the Tottenham Stadium in the second leg on March 8; it was their second defeat in four days after a heavy 4-1 defeat to Leicester City on Saturday.

Wenger believes Tottenham are severely lacking in key areas despite some big additions in recent transfer windows.

“Tottenham for me, is a team that is not convincing, they do not have enough top quality players,” the Frenchman told beIN Sport.

“Overall I believe this team lacks pace, they have a mono-rhythm and they do not change pace enough and cannot compete physically pace-wise at the top level at the moment,” he added.

Tottenham Hotspur are currently outside the Premier League top four behind Newcastle United and Manchester United having been very inconsistent this season.

Up next for Antonio Conte’s side is a London derby against West Ham United at the Tottenham stadium this weekend before another derby against Chelsea.

The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned one Victor Williams before a Yaba Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a bank cheque belonging to his former employer, Alhaji Adekunle Moshood. Williams was accused of also forging Moshood’s signature on the cheque and withdrawing over N2m from the account. Williams was arraigned before Magistrate P. E. Nwaka on three counts of stealing and forgery on Thursday, April 20. The police prosecutor, Thomas Nurudeen, told the court that the offence contravened and is punishable under Sections 411 and 287(1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State. The charge read in part, “That you, Victor Williams, in February 2023 did unlawfully withdraw N500, 000 from the account of your ex-employer, Adekunle Moshood, in the Magodo area of the state over the counter and had subsequently transferred N2m into your account without the consent of the original owner of the account and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State.” The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges read to him in English. Following his plea, Nwaka granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two responsible sureties in like sum. He then adjourned the case till May 9, 2023, for mention.
