Former Newcastle United boss, Rafael Benitez has warned Liverpool about two Real Madrid players, Karim Benzema and Vinicius, ahead of both teams’ UEFA Champions League last-16 first-leg tie on Tuesday night at Anfield.

Benitez, who has managed both Real Madrid and Liverpool in the past, said Benzema and Vinicius are very dangerous players.

The Spaniard spoke after Liverpool defeated Newcastle United 2-0 in a Premier League tie on Saturday.

“If they [Liverpool] do what they did tonight [with Newcastle] against [Karim] Benzema, against Vinicius, Madrid will score,” Benitez told Sky Sports.

“Benzema is clever, his movement in between the lines is quite complicated and Vinicius also is a threat.

“When they can pass and avoid the press and play in behind, they are very dangerous.”
