The 22-year-old centre-back was spotted training with the squad at Cobham on Tuesday while the team prepared for the upcoming European tie. Colwill has been sidelined for months after suffering a serious knee injury during pre-season, which required surgery and kept him out for most of the 2025/26 campaign.During his absence, Chelsea had to rely on defensive rotations, with several players stepping into central defence as injuries disrupted the squad. Colwill’s presence not only strengthens the defensive line but also improves Chelsea’s build-up play, an area where his left-footed passing range offers balance and control from the back.
