Former France international Emmanuel Petit has suggested that the Chelsea’s striker “curse” has affected Joao Pedro.
Petit believes that Pedro’s form has dropped off after the Brazilian started well for the Blues.
Recall that Pedro made a summer transfer move to the Premier League west London club from Brighton a few months ago.
Speaking to Snabbre, the Frenchman said: “The striker curse might have got to Joao Pedro at Chelsea.
“It is weird. Honestly, I was very impressed with him when he started at the Club World Cup, and then he did it again when he came back during the summer.
“But week after week, he has been dropping off,” he added.
