Chelsea defender, Marc Cucurella has warned the Blues ahead of their Club World Cup quarter-final tie with Fluminense on Tuesday.

Chelsea will face the Brazilian side on Tuesday after beating Palmeiras in the quarter-final.

Speaking ahead of the game, Cucurella said (via The Independent) that Fluminense have a legend of football in the person of Thiago Silva.

He also warned Enzo Maresca’s side that Fluminense have very good players, who are determined, in their squad.

“We have watched some of their games. They’ve very good players, they are very determined and they’ve Thiago Silva,” the Spain international said.

“He’s a legend of football, a top player. He’s only played for big clubs and texted me before the game [quarter-final] saying, ‘Let’s go, hopefully we can see you in a couple of days’.

“We’ve the opportunity to play against him again and hopefully we can do good things and win this game and play in the final which is what we want to do.”

Silva, 40, left Chelsea to join Fluminense in 2024.
