Colleagues and fans of Nollywood actress Joke Silva are rallying around her following the loss of her elder brother.
The wife of Olu Jacobs made the sad news known on her Instagram page, where she announced that her elder brother, John Olabiyi Silva, aged 73, had passed away.
She described the deceased as easy-going and prayed that his soul rest in peace.
“With acceptance of God’s Sovereign will.
We announce the call to Glory of my dear brother John Olabiyi Silva, long John Silva.

My easy-going, lucky brother.
Rest in peace. January 22nd, 1953-August 29th, 2025″.

Earlier this week, Yoruba actress Joke Jigan, had lost her sister, Lizzy. She shared photos of herself and the deceased, questioning why death is everywhere as she contemplated logging off from social media. Mourning her sister, she told her to rest in peace.
Similarly, talent manager, Ubi Franklin had lost his sister. Describing her death as one of the biggest losses of his life, he revealed that his sister was the one who birthed the Ubi Franklin the public knows and opened his eyes to what life truly is. He described her as one of the kindest souls he had ever known and expressed how blessed he was to call her his sister.
Last month, actress, Opeyemi Aiyeola had lost someone close to her. Recalling how last conversation with the deceased, she said she couldn’t sleep, her heart was heavy, and the tears couldn’t stop falling. She said that the person’s death has pierced her heart so deeply, and her pictures are too beautiful and special to be uploaded with RIP.
In June, skitmaker, Kiekie, had lost a dear friend, Adepero Agbaje. She described the deceased as a sister as she declared June 6th, the worst day of her life. She noted how Adepero made her the godmother to her first child, unknowingly, that a day like this would come when she would have to become the child’s mother.
Actress, Bose Alao had lost her footballer husband and the father of her kids, Razak Omotoyosi. The renowned Beninese International footballer died at the age of 38 in Benin. Reports claimed that he battled with an undisclosed ailment before his untimely death.
Earlier this year, late actor Junior Pope’s farher, has died. His widow wife revealed the sad news as she bid farewell to her father-in-law. Jennifer described her late father-in-law as a man who genuinely loved her, and she expressed how thankful she was that she spent time with him.
