Nigerian singer and showbiz entrepreneur Darey Art-Alade has opened up about how he and his wife, Deola Art-Alade, have successfully balanced their professional and personal lives.

In a recent interview, the 43-year-old revealed that their bond began as a deep friendship, which naturally evolved into a seamless partnership both at home and in business.

“We always just do things together. Once you enjoy each other’s company and admire each other, it flows,” Darey said, recalling how Deola once set up his social media accounts when he was still an artiste.

He explained that while both of them are naturally creative, their roles gradually took shape over time, with him focusing on the creative vision and Deola leading on the business front.

“We just cross-pollinated. I learn a lot from her, and she picked up a lot from me, especially on the entertainment side,” he noted.

Business, Marriage built on Trust

Darey emphasised that their success didn’t come overnight but was built on mutual respect, adaptability, and a willingness to learn from each other.

“It is not like you are going to have it all figured out off the bat. Once you have that willingness, cooperation, and understanding, you can cover each other’s weaknesses and play to each other’s strengths,” he said.

He added that they approach challenges as a team, stressing: “It is both of you against anybody else. Then when the doors are shut, you can figure out what may have gone wrong.”

Their partnership has propelled their company, Livespot360, to great heights. The agency has produced major Nigerian events like Entertainment Week Africa and handled high-profile concerts, including bringing American superstar Cardi B to Nigeria.
