Popular Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) star and comedian, Aderombi Adedayo Martins, popularly known as DeeOne, has clinched the House of Assembly ticket of the BOOT Party for Ibeju-Lekki Constituency 1 in Lagos State.
Naija News reports that DeeOne secured the nomination after winning the party’s primary election ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Following his victory, the reality TV star took to his Instagram page on Wednesday night to express gratitude to the BOOT Party for the confidence reposed in him.
He noted that his emergence at the primaries reflected the party’s belief in his ability to effectively represent the people of Ibeju-Lekki Constituency 1.
“I want to thank my party, BOOT party for the confidence in voting for me to emerge the winner of the primary election for Ibeju Lekki constituency 1,” he wrote.
DeeOne also assured constituents that he would serve with humility if elected into the Lagos State House of Assembly in 2027.
He emphasized that his goal was to serve the people rather than dominate them, describing himself as a “worker” for the constituency.
“To Ibeju Lekki Constituency 1, come 2027 by the grace of God, I will be your worker and not your boss,” he added.
His emergence adds to the growing list of entertainers venturing into politics as preparations intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections in Nigeria.
