The Delta State Police Command has reacted to the claims made by a lady who said she spent N500k to secure bail for an 11-year-old girl arrested alongside suspected drug traffickers.
The lady claimed that police officers attached to the Ekpan police division had intercepted a commercial tricycle with some men who were trafficking hard drugs. They whisked everyone in the tricycle to their station, including the 11-year-old girl. According to the lady, the minor was detained and was not allowed to make any contact with her family
She mentioned that she went to the police station to make a statement when they found the girl detained. She alleged that N500,000 was collected as bail before the minor was released.
Reacting via its X handle, the state police command condemned the incident and asked her to come forward with evidence of the incident.
