The dethroned Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, has moved into a palace in the ancient town. The 15th Emir of Kano who was dethroned on Friday, May 24, for Sanusi to be reinstated into office, arrived the ancient town on Saturday morning, May 25.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, who sacked Ado Bayero alongside other Emirs appointed by his predecessor, Abdullahi Ganduje, had given them 48 hours to vacate their palaces and hand over to the Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affair. He had subsequently announced the reinstatement of Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi, whom Ganduje deposed in 2020.

Ado Bayero returned to Kano and was welcomed by a crowd of supporters. He later moved into the mini-palace in Nassarawa.
