An audio recording used by Sean “Diddy” Combs’ defense team in court has been made public, capturing singer Cassie in an intense confrontation with a man identified as “Sugit” over an alleged explicit video.
The recording, played for jurors during Cassie’s cross-examination on May 16, is from a 2014 incident in Atlantic City, New Jersey. In the audio, Cassie can be heard angrily confronting the man, demanding he show her a video he claimed to have seen. She insists she never wanted anyone to view the video and, in a heightened emotional state, makes several threats.
“You’re messing with my life,” Cassie says in the recording. “I’ve never killed anyone, but I will kill you.”
The defense team introduced the clip as part of its effort to challenge Cassie’s credibility in the case. According to court filings, Diddy’s legal team claims the audio demonstrates Cassie making threats over the incident, which she had referenced during earlier testimony.
Cassie testified that she confronted the man after he claimed to have seen her in a so-called “freak-off” video. During the exchange in court, she acknowledged the altercation took place and that she had been deeply upset about the alleged leak of the footage.
The court is currently considering a broader civil case in which Cassie and others have accused Diddy of a pattern of abuse and misconduct, allegations he has consistently denied. This particular recording was among several exhibits introduced by the defense as part of a strategy to counter those claims.
The case continues to unfold with testimony from both sides.
