Popular Nigerian skit maker and singer, Carter Efe, has taken to social media to lament after being allegedly kicked out of his colleague Oloro’s residence.
In a viral post, Carter accused fellow comedians Salo and Sparkoo of conspiring against him and turning Oloro against him. He expressed shock that, despite his contributions to improving the house including spending his own money on renovations he was still thrown out unexpectedly.
“Oloro has finally chased me out of his house. Salo and Sparkoo went behind my back and badmouthed me to him. After everything I did, even renovating that house,” he lamented.
Following his post, social media users shared mixed reactions. While some sympathized with him, others criticized his decision to invest heavily in a property that wasn’t his.
A user wrote: “Imagine spending money to upgrade a house that’s not yours; Lagos friendship is just temporary tenancy.”
Others pointed out that real independence comes from owning one’s own space, not relying on friends for accommodation no matter how close the relationship seems.
The incident has also reignited discussions about financial discipline among Nigerian entertainers. Critics wondered why Carter, after several years in the industry, still depended on others for housing.
Some argued that the situation should serve as a lesson in prioritizing stability over lifestyle appearances. They also noted that, despite his hit songs “Machala” and “Oyimo,” Carter might be facing challenges with long-term financial management.
However, a few observers suggested the entire episode could be part of a comedy skit, given its dramatic nature.
