The family of Nigerian music icon Innocent “2Face” Idibia has reportedly submitted a petition to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) against his wife, Natasha Osawaru.
The petition, which circulated online on Thursday, accuses Natasha of several offences, including alleged financial misconduct, physical assault, bigamy, threats to life, and substance abuse.
Dated November 12, the Idibia family urged the police to thoroughly investigate a series of incidents they say have caused the singer emotional distress, reputational harm, and financial losses.
According to the petition, 2Face and other witnesses reported cases of physical assault in both Abuja and the United Kingdom. It also alleges that Natasha transferred funds from the singer’s bank accounts without his consent.
She is further accused of withholding his international passport and personal documents, actions which reportedly prevented him from fulfilling business commitments, leading to public embarrassment and possible financial setbacks.
The family also expressed worry about his safety and mental well-being, asking the police to look into potential violations of marriage laws and suspected fraudulent misrepresentation.
The document notes that divorce proceedings between 2Face and his estranged wife, Annie Macaulay-Idibia, were still ongoing when Natasha identified herself as his new spouse.
It also references alleged substance abuse by Natasha, which the petition claims has led to violent behaviour, emotional strain, and financial damage for the singer.
The petition emerged shortly after 2Face’s former managers, Kaka Igbokwe and Lori Tosan, claimed during an Instagram Live with Daddy Freeze that Natasha was trying to take “full control” of the musician’s finances and career.
The situation intensified when 2Face unexpectedly joined the livestream and attempted to stop his ex-managers from discussing his private life. The session ended abruptly after a physical confrontation occurred between him and Natasha.
In response to the troubling development, the singer’s younger brother, Hyacinth Idibia, pleaded with him on Instagram, saying, “allow us to save you.”
Amid the growing controversy, the Edo State House of Assembly has summoned Natasha Osawaru, who represents the Egor constituency, to appear before a committee regarding her conduct in the viral incident.
