Electrician dies after falling from ladder while working in Umuahia hotel

A 24-year-old electrician identified as Bright Okon, has died after falling from a ladder while carrying out maintenance work at a popular hotel in Umuahia, Abia State.

It was gathered that the incident happened at about 12:30pm on Thursday, March 14, 2024.

According to a report, the deceased fell off the ladder, hit his head on the ground and lost consciousness.

He was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre Umuahia where he was pronounced dead by doctors on duty.

Another report claimed the deceased was electrocuted before he fell off the ladder.

Spokesperson for the State Police Command, ASP Maureen Chinaka, confirmed the incident.

The PPRO said that the management of the hotel reported the incident to the Central Police Station, Umuahia.
